This sample was soaked first in water, it was pre-treated with Shout brand cleaner and left to sit for a few minutes and then hand-washed and treated with 2 Tbsp of the modern laundry detergent, Purex before being beaten with a laundry bat for several minutes.
Again, the modern cleaners were quite good at removing most of the stains. The ink stain faded just slightly and there is a slight discoloration on some of the stains.
